Yes. If you’re a PhD scholar in Trichy, we can help with the statistics in your thesis, in SPSS, R, AMOS or SmartPLS. We plan the tests with you, screen the data and run the models. Then we make sure you understand the output well enough to defend it. We work with you remotely from Nagercoil. Your data stay exactly as collected, and every table comes with the syntax or script that produced it.

What a Trichy committee expects from the analysis starts long before the analysis chapter. Bharathidasan University asks for sampling, variables and data collection in the research proposal. It wants a 1,000-word progress report every year. And it wants results chapters built around objectives, not a chapter called “Analysis & Discussion”. NIT Tiruchirappalli tests research methods through graded coursework and then a written and oral exam. The details below come from their regulations, annexures and guidelines. Quick answers

What will I receive from the analysis?

Every table, whether from SPSS, R, AMOS or SmartPLS, arrives with the syntax, script or model file that regenerates it. With the results you also get checks of each test’s assumptions and effect sizes wherever a p-value is reported. There’s a record of how any variable was recoded. And there’s a live session where we go through the output together.

What is the usual timescale?

This assumes the file is clean and complete. Settling the analysis plan takes two to four working days. Descriptives and hypothesis tests take one to two weeks. A structural equation model takes one to three weeks, and longer when mediation or moderation is involved.

Can you make a non-significant result significant?

No. Your data are analysed as collected. Editing values, dropping inconvenient respondents or trying tests until one crosses 0.05 is research misconduct. A result that is not significant, reported with its effect size and discussed properly, still counts as a finding.

Can you check analysis I have already run?

Yes. An output review usually takes 3–5 working days. We go through the tests you picked and whether their assumptions were checked. We look at how you reported and read the results. Last, we mark whatever an examiner would probably question.

What do you need to give a quote?

Bring three things to the free consultation: your data, the instrument or codebook that explains it, and the objectives. The quote we send is written, priced per stage and states the revision rounds. Should cleaning prove a much bigger job than we priced, we pause and settle the change with you before going on.

What must a Bharathidasan proposal and progress report say about your data and methods?

More than many scholars put in them. Annexure I holds the guidelines for the research proposal that goes to the Departmental Research Committee. It asks for at least 500 words and a year-wise work plan. It also wants a methodology section on experimental, infrastructural or computing facilities, sampling, data collection and variables. The objectives must be listed point by point, at least three or four. Within six months of provisional registration you present the proposal to your Doctoral Committee. The committee uses it to decide your coursework (clause 7.2.2 of the Ph.D. Regulations 2026).

From then on the proposal is the yardstick. The annual progress report in Annexure II runs to at least 1,000 words and is approved at a Doctoral Committee meeting. It asks for four things.

  • The objectives from the proposal that are now complete.
  • Results and discussion for the year, with methods and observations.
  • Any change to the objectives, with the revised wording and a justification.
  • The plan for the next year, including data collection.

Clause 7.2.3 has progress reports uploaded twice a year. Clause 7.2.4 ties confirmation of registration, after half the minimum period, to a presentation of overall progress. What does that mean for the analysis? Your hypotheses and planned tests are, in effect, on record from the first year. You can change an objective after seeing the data, but you have to argue it in writing before your committee. That’s one more reason to fix the analysis plan, and the sample size behind it, before the questionnaire goes out. Our note on progress reports and committee reviews covers the meetings.

How much research methods training do Bharathidasan, NIT Trichy and SASTRA require?

Research methods coursework for Trichy-area PhD scholars, from each institution’s regulations
InstitutionMethods training in the PhDWho sets and marks itWhat you must reach
Bharathidasan UniversityResearch Methodology (4 credits) and Research and Publication Ethics (2 credits), with a core-area and a related-area paper; M.Phil. holders skip Research Methodology (clause 7.2)Your supervisor sets the paper, conducts the examination and marks it; the Doctoral Committee decides the coursesMarked out of 100, 25 internal and 75 external, completed within 12 months of provisional registration
NIT TiruchirappalliAt least four of six postgraduate theory courses chosen by the Doctoral Committee; the model semester plans schedule registration for a Research Methodology course at an early committee meeting (P.14)Course teachers, with relative grading alongside PG studentsOverall grade B (CGPA 8.0) across the best four, no course below C; then a Comprehensive Examination
SASTRA, ThanjavurFour courses of at least 12 credits, plus a non-credited Research Methodology and Ethics workshop and a Research Critique of 10 journal articles (DP 7.1, 7.2)SASTRA or an approved MOOC; a three-member panel for the critiqueGrade B (66%) in each course, within 18 months

The Bharathidasan arrangement has a side effect worth knowing. Your supervisor sets and marks the Research Methodology paper, and the Doctoral Committee picks the courses to suit you. So the regulations fix no common statistics content. What one research centre covers may differ from the next. Ask for your centre’s syllabus early. The regulations have it sent to the Controller of Examinations with the marks. The national rules behind these papers are in our coursework and RPE guide.

At NIT Trichy the 2024 regulations follow coursework with a Comprehensive Examination. It’s a written test of at least an hour plus an oral, and it also weighs the quality of your research proposal. Part-time scholars from industry may meet coursework through 12-week NPTEL or SWAYAM courses the committee approves. SASTRA’s Research Critique asks you to summarise ten articles from your field. You then defend your reading before a three-member panel. It’s good practice for judging other people’s statistics.

On software, the Bharathidasan library’s research tools page lists reference managers and charting tools such as RAWGraphs, Gnuplot and SCImago Graphica. It lists no statistics package. Ask your department what licensed software it has. R is free and works for everything a thesis needs. Are you a management scholar choosing between Bharathidasan, NIT Trichy and IIM Trichy? How should the analysis appear in a Bharathidasan or NIT Trichy thesis?

The two universities organise results differently, and the analysis has to fit the shape.

Bharathidasan. Annexure III builds the thesis around objectives. It opens with the Introduction and closes with Conclusions. In between, it prefers a separate results chapter for each core objective, titled after the finding. It advises against a chapter called “Analysis & Discussion”. Lengthy derivations, extended information and raw observations go to appendices. Tables go right after their first mention, numbered by chapter with the title above. The 300-page ceiling includes tables, so pasted SPSS output is the fastest way to run out of pages. That’s why we organise the analysis by objective, not by test. Each result goes in one clean table, with the effect size beside the p-value. Our Bharathidasan format guide has the layout rules.

NIT Trichy. The institute’s thesis guidelines (July 2008) expect a Results and Discussions chapter just before the conclusions. Conclusions are listed point by point, and questionnaires and original data go in an appendix. The guidelines also say illustrations should be drawn in black, with colour used only where it’s essential. That rules out SPSS’s default coloured charts. Ask your department whether it still applies before you redraw everything. The Central Library’s Shodhganga guidelines invite supporting material, such as statistical results, alongside the thesis in open formats. So keep a CSV copy of your data and the script that produced each table.

Both universities make you answer for the numbers. Bharathidasan’s Candidate’s Declaration has you state that no data or image is fabricated or falsified. Its Code of Ethics goes wider. Doubtful handling of data, data sources, tools, analysis or reporting counts as malpractice, deliberate or not. SASTRA ends registration for data fabrication or falsification of results. That’s why we never drop respondents to reach significance. It’s also why every step we take is in syntax you can rerun. Our ethics policy sets out the rest.

Which Trichy committee has to clear your study before you collect data?

It depends on what you study, and the published information is uneven.

  • Animal work at Bharathidasan. The university’s Institutional Animal Ethics Committee is registered with CPCSEA. It was first registered in June 2001, renewed on 30 August 2024 and is valid until 2029. It works through the Department of Animal Science and reviews proposals for experiments on fish and small mammals. These come from biochemistry, bioinformatics, biotechnology, biomedical sciences, environmental biotechnology, marine science, marine biotechnology and microbiology.
  • Recombinant DNA and biohazards. The Department of Biotechnology’s review committee approved the Institutional Biosafety Committee in December 2024. It reviews work with genetically engineered organisms, pathogens and toxins.
  • People: surveys, interviews, tests. The animal ethics committee’s page lists one of its duties as making sure research with human participants at the university follows the ICMR 2017 National Ethical Guidelines. We found no separate human ethics committee page on Bharathidasan’s research site, and none on NIT Trichy’s. But Bharathidasan’s Code of Ethics does provide for department or centre research committees and an ethics committee, with proposals vetted and minuted.

So does your study collect questionnaire, interview or test data from people? Then ask your Doctoral Committee, before data collection, which body will approve it and how the approval will be minuted. Keep the consent form and approval letter for your appendix. Our guide to research ethics approval sets out what an ethics committee usually wants to see. If the design itself still needs work, research methodology consulting is the better starting point than analysis.

Working with us from Trichy

Everything is done online from Nagercoil. Send your data file (SPSS, Excel or CSV) and the questionnaire or codebook. Add the objectives exactly as they stand in your Annexure I proposal or your latest Doctoral Committee minutes. Where you can, remove names and phone numbers from the data first. On the first video call we agree the analysis plan against those objectives. That way the tests match what your committee already has on record. Our guide to choosing a statistical test shows the reasoning.

For a Bharathidasan scholar we usually time the work around the next progress report or Doctoral Committee meeting. The results are ready by then, with the tables already laid out one objective per chapter. For NIT Trichy we produce charts that read in black and white. We also deliver the data as CSV with the scripts, which suits the Shodhganga deposit.

You get the syntax, script or model file for every table, a data log of any recoding, and a walk-through session. Why does that matter in Trichy? Bharathidasan’s viva is public, and the audience may ask questions too. You should be able to explain each test in your own words.

FAQ

Questions scholars in Trichy ask

Does Bharathidasan University give PhD scholars an SPSS licence?

We found none listed on the library’s research tools page, which covers reference managers and charting tools. Ask your department or college. If nothing is available, R is free and we can deliver everything as commented R scripts.

Can I change an objective after seeing my Bharathidasan survey results?

Annexure II allows changes to objectives. You state the revised objectives and justify them in the progress report, and the Doctoral Committee approves it. But a test that came out non-significant isn’t a justification on its own. Examiners notice.

Do NIT Trichy thesis charts have to be black and white?

The July 2008 guidelines say illustrations should be drawn in black and colour used only where essential. The guidelines are old, so ask your department. Either way, charts that read in greyscale are the safe choice.

Do I need ethics approval for an online questionnaire at a Bharathidasan college centre?

The PhD regulations don’t say so directly. The university’s ethics committee page refers human-participant research to the ICMR 2017 guidelines. So ask your Doctoral Committee before collecting data, and keep a record of what it decides.

Can you run the analysis in AMOS if my committee asks for it?

Yes. We work in SPSS, R, AMOS and SmartPLS. We choose between covariance-based and PLS models from your research aim, because examiners ask why you used one.
